It’s hard to believe 2020 is almost over. And as with every new year, we reflect on the past 365 days and make plans for the next.
This year has been nothing short of… unusual. Our priorities have changed, we’ve learned to appreciate the little things and we have adapted to a new way of being.
With a new year, however, these new insights shouldn’t change even if things do eventually go back to resembling days of old. Let’s learn and grow from 2020 as we dive into 2021.
Hobbies and New Skills
That new thing you’ve always wanted to learn? Why not do that now? Hobbies can help improve your life and lifestyle immensely.
Whether it’s how to play the guitar (or ukulele), learn yoga, or 3D animation being a lifelong learner is a great new year’s resolution. So, go ahead and take that course on FenderPlay or sign up for Udemy lessons.
Family Time
We love family night so much that we want to bring it back. There’s a lot to be said for spending time with your loved ones, so why not schedule it in?
Order some meals from Chefs Plate and have everyone take part in making dinner. Sign up for Disney + and stream your favourite movies or catch up on episodes of The Mandalorian. Better yet, you can order LEGOs and have a family build. Whatever fun activities everyone can enjoy together – do them!
Travel
Admittedly we aren’t travelling via airplane any time soon, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plan a quick getaway that’s safe and somewhat close to home. Take a look at rentals from VRBO or even Hotels.com for a quick weekend (or long-weekend) getaway. A change of scenery can do a world of good.
Or you can pre-book a trip for when the borders open up and it’s safe to travel. Travel companies are offering generous cancellation policies to help keep the travel industry going, so there’s no better time to plan ahead. Having something to look forward to can be an incredible morale booster. Visit booking sites like Expedia and Priceline for some great offers.
Treat Yourself
Sometimes you’ve just got to treat yourself. Get yourself some flowers delivered by 1800Flowers.ca. Or contact a local florist to discuss a unique arrangement to liven up your space.
Give yourself a day at the spa… at home. From loofas to body scrubs and masks, everything you need can be found at The Body Shop or Sephora.
We love going through Groupon experiences and treating ourselves (or our loved ones) to new and novel activities. There’s a vast selection – something for everyone – on Groupon.
