With the Super Bowl 50 this weekend, there is one thing more (or almost more!) exciting than the game itself. This, of course, is food! Hanging out and watching the game with your pals definitely calls for some good eats.
This is the time to get creative and wow your guests with some football themed foods.
Whether you’re rooting for the Denver Broncos or the Carolina Panthers, we can all at least agree on some delicious Super Bowl food.
Gather your friends, whip up some party foods and enjoy the game!
- Chocolate covered strawberries
For your chocolate loving friends, simply dip strawberries in melted chocolate. Next, dip a toothpick in melted white chocolate and draw white lines on the strawberry to look like a football. These are bite size, delicious, and super cute.
- Cupcakes
These mini desserts can be made from scratch or from a pre-made mix. Cover the top of the cupcake with green icing to mimic the grass on a football field, and then buy little footballs to top each cupcake with.
- Guacamole
Pour guacamole into a rectangular serving dish, which would serve as the grass on a football field. Next, either make or buy a black bean dip and shape it into a football on top of the guacamole. Use sour cream to draw lines on the “football”, for a tasty, themed dish.
- Potato Skins
This indulgently delicious snack is a Super Bowl food favourite. Although technically only the outside skin is brown, we can use our imagination a little. At least the shape can be made into a football. Sour cream can be used to draw lines on the potato to look like a football.
- Refreshments
Make two different batches of drinks, one orange for the Broncos, and one blue for the Panthers. Whether you choose to make them alcoholic or more kid friendly, have a little fun and see whom everyone is rooting for based on their drink choice!
Check out the drink recipes below.
Broncorange Sangria
2 bottles white wine
2 cups orange juice
¼ cup orange liqueur (Cointreau)
1 cup club soda/sparkling water (optional, to taste)
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher. Stir and let sit in the fridge for at least an hour if possible. Serve and enjoy!
Panther Punch
1/2 cup vodka
1/4 cup curacao
2 cups lemonade
1/2 cup club soda, or to taste
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher. Serve with ice if desired.
Have fun making and eating these Super Bowl party foods.
Regardless of who wins, you know you can count on delicious treats.
